IRRIGATION AUDITOR

Position description:

Banyan Water Smart Irrigation Auditors will be highly involved in the analysis and implementation of Banyan Smart Irrigation systems on Customer commercial properties. This position will develop the capital cost of implementation for presentation to Customers, followed by detailed irrigation system and landscape audit, site mapping, and system initial programming. Auditors will travel to Customer properties, with high regard for the safety while in transit and while on Customer property.

Major areas of responsibility include:   

  • Inspection, diagnostics, reporting and repair of irrigation systems; 
  • Development of implementation plan based on existing site conditions and irrigation system layout;
  • Mapping of irrigation system;
  • Irrigation system audit, distribution uniformity identification; and
  • Operation and maintenance of company owned tools, diagnostic equipment, vehicles.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • You must be a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual;
  • Travel will be required; routinely in region, and occasionally out of state;
  • Education – Bachelor of Science degree from accredited university,
    • preferably in Agronomy or Horticulture,
    • or extensive past employment in agronomy or horticulture
    • or 3-5 years of in-field installation and repair experience on commercial irrigation systems
  • Knowledge of;
    • plant water requirements,
    • soil types and water holding characteristics and capacity
    • irrigation system precipitation rates, nozzle types
  • Current Irrigation Association Technician Certification and/ or Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor certification preferred;
  • Computer skills required;
    • Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer required
    • High aptitude for computer technology
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
